Elena Edwards
Russian, Belarusian and Polish translator
Born in Minsk, Belarus, Elena graduated with a Diploma in Russian Philology
and Classics from the Belarusian State University, following which she
gained a first class MPhil degree in European Literature from Cambridge
University in 1994. Before becoming a full-time translator, Elena worked
in the fields of reinsurance and investment banking - in London, Boston
and Dallas.
Elena's language of habitual use is English, her active translation and
interpreting languages are Russian and Belarusian (her mother tongues),
in addition to which she is fluent in Polish and has a good command of
other Slavonic languages, as well as German.
Elena is a qualified Member of the Institute
of Translation & Interpreting (for English to Russian translation).
She has a particularly good knowledge of medicine and is also a qualified
Homeopath.
